BEFORE ENTERING YOUR LISTING
First and foremost, provide quality photos and complete/accurate information in your listings. Complete and accurate listings with high-quality photos will solicit offers instead of being ignored by buyers. Listings with poor-quality photos do not generate offers.
The sale of your LGD depends upon its clean, clear appearance and description. Quality imaging is the key. For accuracy and consistency, Laboratory Grown Diamond Exchange strongly recommends the use of high-resolution photography or 360 degree interactive videos which allow potential buyers to view your item(s) from every angle as illustrated. Click hyperlink for demonstration: https://up.diacam360.com/scan/83d7_279270. We suggest that sellers have these images professionally shot or Laboratory Grown Diamond Exchange can perform that service for you. The fee for two HD photos (top and side views) is $20. Each interactive video is $30 per item.
If you are a do-it-yourself kind of person, for only ($20), you can purchase from the Laboratory Grown Diamond Exchange, a simple yet extremely effective, MACRO CAMERA PHONE LENS, made of optical-grade acrylic. The lens is mounted onto a thick elastic band that stretches across your cellphone and sits directly over the built-in phone lens, creating clear, crisp, high resolution photos from as close as one inch away.
Follow the directions on the listing form carefully. As you move through each section of the form, you will see a pop-up window detailing exactly what you need to fill in for that section. Please read the pop-up windows, make the appropriate dropdown selections, and provide as many details as possible in the corresponding text boxes.
Buyers want to know all of the details about your LGD before they consider making an offer. For the best results, please follow the directions carefully, and provide the information to the best of your ability.
Please keep in mind when listing an LGD for sale, the price that you are asking will dictate the order in which it will be viewed by interested buyers. For example, if a potential buyer is searching for a 1 Carat Round Brilliant Cut (RBC) LGD, then the lowest asking price for a 1 Carat RBC LGD will be displayed first and then the next lowest priced one carat, RBC LGD gem will be displayed and so on. It is in the best interest of sellers to ask for a realistic selling price. If you are a volume buyer, some sellers offer quantity discounts.
If you do not know what you’re listing, please do not enter it into our database. Take it to a professional appraiser or expert for advice. See Independent Third Party Gem Labs. Listings mistakes can be costly for sellers if the buyer rejects a transaction because of misinformation. Please read Claims, returns & mispresentation for more information. If you don’t know what your LGD is worth, please do not ask us. We are facilitators, not appraisers. We do not provide pricing assistance for legal reasons. Please do not ask us what a similar item sold for. We do not disclose sales information to anyone for any reason.
AFTER ENTERING YOUR LISTING
Track how many times your listings have been viewed by logging into your member dashboard. If your listings seem to be generating a healthy number of views but few offers, you may want to consider adjusting the asking price or providing higher quality photos. For the best results, please keep your LGD listed with the Exchange until it is sold. Please keep your listings and contact information up-to-date. Please make sure to provide your current phone number (a second phone number if you have one) and email. Outdated prices, disconnected phone numbers, and bounced emails are frustrating for buyers and do not result in sales. If your listing was declined, you will receive an email from our staff. Laboratory Grown Diamond Exchange reserves the right to refuse any listing for any reason with no comment.
PROFESSIONAL IMAGING SERVICES & PHOTOGRAPHY
QUALITY PHOTOS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A LISTING
Each listing should have at least two (2) photos, one in profile and one from top view of the LGD. Most modern smart phones are capable of taking high-quality/high-resolution photos. Lighting is extremely important. We suggest either natural lighting from a window, or indirect soft lighting from above.
LGDs SET IN JEWELRY
When LGDs are set in precious metal, i.e., gold, platinum and silver, the seller’s description will include a component breakdown of all contained in the item. The component breakdown will include identification and penny weight or gram weights of the precious metals; quantity of LGDs contained, individual weights and the shape/cutting style of each stone.
For example: One 14 karat yellow gold ring weighing 2.5 dwt. containing one round brilliant cut laboratory grown diamond weighing 2.25 ct.; 10 round brilliant cut LGDs each weighing .10 ct. each and in total 1.00 ct.
Please submit no less than two (2) photos showing the top and side view of the article of jewelry. If a precious metal chain is included, for example, a pendant hanging from a chain, please include the photo of the chain and state the overall length, along with the photo of the pendant. Your description may include copies of any and all previously issued reports from either yourself and/or any third-party. Laboratory Grown Diamond Exchange is not responsible for the accuracy of seller’s description or third party reports.
Photos should be in highest resolution possible. 300 DPI is ideal. They should be emailed to the exchange along with the Create a Listing that follows. Size of the photos should depend on the sharpness of the image that best shows off the details without any distortion.
